Scotland Give Germany a Scare in EURO Qualifier
Brave Display in Hampden Park Defeat
Goals from James McArthur Not Enough as World Champions Secure Victory
WEB Scotland provided a stern test for world champions Germany in their EURO 2016 qualifier at Hampden Park on Monday night, despite eventually succumbing to a 3-2 defeat.
Scotland fell behind early to a Thomas Muller goal, but Mats Hummels' own goal quickly levelled the scores. Muller restored Germany's lead before the break, but James McArthur's second-half effort gave the hosts hope.
However, Muller's third goal of the night sealed the victory for the Germans, who remain top of Group D with a perfect record after four matches.
Scotland, meanwhile, remain in fourth place with four points from their four games. They will travel to face Poland in their next qualifier on October 8.
