The Denver Nuggets have taken an early lead in the 2023 NBA Finals, defeating the Miami Heat 104-93 in Game 1. Nikola Jokić led the way for the Nuggets with 30 points and 14 rebounds, while Bam Adebayo had 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Heat.

The Nuggets jumped out to a quick start, taking a 20-point lead in the first half. The Heat cut the lead to 10 points at the end of the third quarter, but the Nuggets were able to hold on for the victory.

Game 2 of the series will be played on Thursday, June 1 at 8:30 pm ET. The Heat will need to win to tie the series and avoid going down 2-0.
